Anyone who has walked a few days of the Rota Vicentina knows that the trail itself is only half the story. The other half is what happens before and after: where you sleep, what you eat, how you carry your things and whether your boots are dry the next morning. Vila do Bispo is a natural stop on both the Fishermen's Trail and the Historical Way, and over the years we have shaped our houses around what walkers actually need.
Travelling light makes every kilometre easier. Luggage transport between stages is available on request — just ask at reception or on WhatsApp and we will look into it with you. If you arrive before check-in or need to set off after check-out, we can store your backpacks and luggage, so you can explore the village or start the trail without the extra weight.
A good walking day starts with a good breakfast. At Pure Fonte Velha, breakfast is served from 08:00 to 10:00, and in walking season it starts at 07:30. For special requests, we can prepare it the evening before, so an early start never means an empty stomach. A walking packed lunch is also available on request, to take with you on the trail.
Wind, sand and the occasional shower are part of the Costa Vicentina. When you arrive at the end of the day, we help you dry your clothes and walking boots, and our laundry service returns your washing in 24 to 48 hours — useful if you are walking several stages in a row.
Arriving late after a long stage is no problem: self check-in is available 24 hours a day, so your bed is waiting whenever you get in. And if you need to get to the start of a stage, or back from the end of one, we can help you organise a transfer or taxi.
To plan your route, see our Rota Vicentina page, with the stages that start or end in Vila do Bispo. For luggage transport, packed lunches or any other request, get in touch with us — we reply personally. When you are ready, you can book directly below.
